ATLANTA, GA - June 23, 2015 -
LED Medical Diagnostics Inc. ("LED Medical" or "the Company") has announced the launch of the new VELscope® Vx Imaging Adapter & VELscope Photo System Application from subsidiary LED Dental, delivering integration of the VELscope Vx with the Apple iPod touch®* for clinical photographic documentation and secure image sharing of oral lesions. Available starting June 15th
, the new system can be purchased through LED Dental's VELscope dealer network.
The system is comprised of a custom-designed Apple iPod touch holder & state-of-the-art imaging application that make framing and acquiring both tissue fluorescence and white-light clinical images simple and intuitive. Wireless network performance is drastically improved over the previous VELscope Vx Camera System. Images can be easily shared via wireless networking or by attaching the Apple iPod touch sync cable to a laptop or desktop workstation. Images can also be tagged with a clinical description for improved case collaboration between healthcare providers.
The user interface of the VELscope Photo System application is designed to be exceptionally user-friendly. The VELscope Photo System application (available from the Apple® App Store) automatically configures the Apple iPod touch for capturing fluorescence visualization images when the adapter is attached to the VELscope Vx. Once the device is removed from the VELscope, the app instantly updates image settings for white-light photography with no manual configurations required for flash or continuous illumination image capture.
"We are very excited to provide our customers with an improved method for capturing both fluorescence and white-light images during the course of oral screenings," stated Wayne Rees, vice president of VELscope imaging for LED Dental. "The VELscope Vx Imaging Adapter and VELscope Photo System application provide intuitive functionality and simple image acquisition that make the VELscope the most seamless product on the market for visualization, clinical documentation and case collaboration."
The new VELscope Vx Imaging Adapter and VELscope Photo System application will now be included with the Vx Value Bundle, replacing the previous VELscope Vx Camera System. For more details, please call 844.952.7327 or visit www.velscope.com/imaging
